/ Biography
Amethyst can be described as a band that navigates through the waters of a dark gloomy rock, kind of a melancholic sound with progressive hints that delivers dramatic melodies, embellished with a beautiful female voice that envisions magnificent fantasy worlds.
Based in Costa Rica, the band was founded in 2015 by Geovanny Leitón (lead guitar) and Elías Vega (bassist) as a new spin from their previous bands Cántiga and Nebula, which had been around for more than 15 years, gaining the experience required to make it in the international metal scene.
The band’s line-up is formed by Fabiola Salas (vocals), Geovanny Leitón (guitar), Kendal Rodriguez (keyboards), Elías Vega (bass) and JC Soto (drums). The band’s name reflects the music they play, as the amethyst stone is one of the hardest minerals on earth, it is also a delicate jewel, used since ancient times to heal, to protect and also in magical rituals. This is the sense of Amethyst music as well.

We at Imperative Music always look for new talent around the world and since we can not exclude any country in this world because there is very good bands everywhere, we were lucky enough to find a fantastic band from Costa Rica, we are talking about Amethyst.
Songwriting mature, along the music, they make striking and captivating constructions, all filled with the beautiful female voice of Fabiola Salas, wonderful!
